CELEBRATING COMMUNITY AT THE LADY McADDEN ASCOT LUNCH

At Big Purple Pants, we often say that we're stronger together, and our recent visit to the Lady McAdden Ascot Lunch was a perfect example of that.

Held at the Cliffs Pavilion, the event brought together charities, supporters and members of the local community for a wonderful afternoon of fundraising, friendship and celebration. We were proud to have a table of Big Purple Pants trustees, members and supporters, joined by friends from Bosom Pals Southend, all supporting Lady McAdden during their special 50th anniversary year.

The afternoon was filled with thoughtful touches, from the beautifully presented Ascot bags and race programmes to delicious food, bubbles, entertainment from Ross McGrane and John Oakes from the Radio Essex Breakfast Show, and plenty of excitement as the races unfolded. Every detail reflected the incredible amount of work that had gone into organising such a memorable event.

One particularly special moment came when our Chair of Trustees, Claire, was crowned Best Dressed. Her outfit was inspired by one of our much-loved members who sadly passed away, making the award even more meaningful and a beautiful tribute to someone who remains very much part of the Big Purple Pants family.

Most importantly, the day raised valuable funds for Lady McAdden, whose ongoing support helps make a real difference to many of our members living with secondary breast cancer.

For us, events like this represent something much bigger than fundraising. They show what can happen when local charities work together rather than separately. Big Purple Pants, Lady McAdden and Bosom Pals Southend all have different roles to play, but we share the same goal – supporting people affected by breast cancer and creating a stronger, more connected community.

We're looking forward to many more collaborative events over the coming months because together we can reach more people, raise more awareness and make an even greater impact.
