International Women's Day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women, recognise the strength of our communities and inspire positive change.

This year, Big Purple Pants was proud to be represented at the Lady McAdden International Women's Day Lunch by one of our trustees, Emily Hewett, Director of IAE Marketing.

Lady McAdden IWD 2026

Hosted by Lady McAdden, a charity that we are proud to collaborate closely with, the event brought together women from across the local community to celebrate, connect and share their experiences. Lady McAdden continues to provide invaluable support to members of Big Purple Pants, and we're incredibly grateful for the relationship we have built together.

Emily was invited to join the panel discussion, where she shared what International Women's Day means to her, reflecting on her journey in business, the importance of supporting other women and why community plays such an important role in creating opportunities for everyone.

As a trustee of Big Purple Pants, Emily also took the opportunity to raise awareness of secondary breast cancer, helping to ensure that the experiences of those living with metastatic breast cancer were part of the conversation. Every opportunity to increase understanding, encourage discussion and highlight the importance of support is an opportunity worth taking.

Away from events like these, Emily plays a key role behind the scenes at Big Purple Pants. Through her business, IAE Marketing, she donates her time and expertise to support the charity with website development, marketing, social media, fundraising campaigns, digital communications and raising the profile of Big Purple Pants across Essex and beyond.

She also works closely with local businesses, helping them understand how they can support smaller charities through fundraising, sponsorship, donated experiences, volunteering and collaborative events. Building strong relationships within the local business community helps create opportunities that directly benefit our members and ensures Big Purple Pants can continue growing its support network.

Our trustees all bring different skills, experiences and connections to the charity, and together they work tirelessly to support our members, raise awareness of secondary breast cancer and strengthen the local community around us.

We're incredibly proud that Emily was able to represent Big Purple Pants at such an inspiring event, helping to shine a light on secondary breast cancer while celebrating the power of women supporting women.

A huge thank you to Lady McAdden for inviting Emily to be part of such a special occasion. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and working together to support even more people across our community.
